This study examines how dual appraisals of value and risk jointly shape purchase intention in live-streaming commerce, refining the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S-O-R) framework for an understudied market context. Drawing on data from Indonesian live-stream shoppers, we demonstrate that stimuli such as streamer credibility, interactivity, and media richness enhance value perceptions and reduce perceived risk, which in turn increases purchase intention. The findings indicated that perceived value is the dominant pathway to intention, while perceived risk shows a small but positive association in this context. The study contributes by advancing S-O-R with dual appraisals and offers design guidance for stream formats. Practically, the findings provide explicit direction for allocating resources towards media richness and structured interactivity, while simultaneously emphasising the importance of safeguards. These design decisions consistently increase consumers’ purchase intentions and perceived value. Full article

Recently, the live commerce market has experienced rapid growth, accompanied by increasingly intense competition. To improve business performance in this dynamic environment, it is essential to foster competent streamers and create effective commerce environments. Therefore, this study developed a research model based on the stimulus–organism–response (S-O-R) framework, focusing on streamer competencies and the commerce environment, to explore ways to effectively enhance live commerce business performance. Data for this study were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using statistical techniques with 390 respondents. The results revealed that streamers’ competencies (expertise, demonstration skills, and interactive ability) significantly influence consumers’ internal states (perceived functional value of products and perceived trust in product recommendations), which in turn significantly influence purchase intentions. Moreover, the physical surroundings of the studio and the social surroundings, including peers’ perceptions of live commerce, were found to moderate the relationships between consumers’ internal states and their purchase intentions. This study holds academic significance in that it presents a model that effectively understands the mechanisms influencing viewers’ purchase decisions in live commerce contexts. The findings and practical implications discussed in this study are expected to provide valuable insights for developing strategies to enhance the performance of live commerce. Full article

This study explores the implementation of gamification as an instructional strategy to support the learning of whole numbers in a rural Colombian school with limited technological resources. The intervention involved 23 sixth-grade students who participated in a Genially based digital escape room titled “Agent 00+7.” The activity was structured around five missions designed to foster motivation, collaboration, and active participation. A survey instrument encompassing five dimensions—motivation, role performance, task completion, learning/interaction, and gro integration—was administered across all missions, producing 180 valid responses. The instrument demonstrated strong internal consistency (Cronbach’s α = 0.872). Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA, revealing significant mission-level variations in students’ perceived motivation, role performance, task completion, and integration, while learning/interaction remained stable. These outcomes suggest that gamified digital environments may shape students’ perceptions of engagement and teamwork, even in resource-constrained settings. Although the results are exploratory and descriptive, given the absence of a control group or pre–post comparison, they provide preliminary evidence of the feasibility and pedagogical promise of gamification in rural educational contexts, contributing to the advancement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, 9, and 10. MyDispense is a high-fidelity, low-stakes community pharmacy simulation, allowing students to practice dispensing skills. A systematic review was conducted to identify students’ perceptions regarding barriers and facilitators of MyDispense in pharmacy education. PubMed, CINAHL, and EMBASE databases were searched from 2015 to 2025 in January 2025 using combined keywords, proximity searching and Boolean operators. Studies investigating MyDispense and gathering students’ perceptions were included. Record screening was conducted by two independent reviewers (OC and LS). Any identified records from database searching and hand searching of included study reference lists were imported to Rayyan and subjected to independent review. Conflicts were resolved through a third party (RMcC), and discussions were held until consensus was reached. Fifteen studies were included in this review. Seven studies were conducted in USA, six in Asia, one in UK, and one in Australia. All studies utilised purposive sampling. Sample sizes ranged from 33 to 322 students. All studies included surveys to gather student perceptions. Other data collection methods included semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions for students to further elaborate on survey responses. Identified facilitators were mapped to four overarching themes; “Develops competency”, “User-Friendliness”, “Engaging Learning Experience” and “Safe Learning Environment.” Key barriers were encompassed to three themes: “Learning Curve”, “IT issues” and “Limited Realism and Applications”. Barriers included (i) the learning curve of the platform, (ii) technical issues, and (iii) limited realism. Facilitators included perceptions of (i) improved dispensing and counselling skills and a deeper understanding of pharmacy legislation, (ii) accessibility, interactivity of the learning environment and (iii) immediate feedback. Synthesis of the evidence in this review identified students’ perceptions of barriers and facilitators of MyDispense in pharmacy education. This may serve as a guide to educators considering the adoption of MyDispense into their curricula. Full article

The transition to a circular economy (CE) in plastic packaging faces persistent barriers, including regulatory fragmentation, technological limitations, and supply chain disconnection. This study examines how multinational companies address these challenges by leveraging enablers such as advanced policies, technological innovation, and cross-sectoral collaboration. Based on a PRISMA-guided systematic review and a descriptive–explanatory case study, semi-structured interviews with senior managers were analyzed through thematic coding and data triangulation. Findings reveal that regulatory measures like virgin plastic taxation and post-consumer recycled material (PCR) incentives are effective only when synchronized with technical capacities. Investments in recycling infrastructure and circular design, such as resin standardization, enhance the quality of secondary materials, while local supply contracts and digital traceability platforms reduce volatility. Nevertheless, negative consumer perceptions and inconsistent PCR quality remain major obstacles. Unlike prior studies that examine barriers and enablers separately, this research develops an integrative framework where their interaction is conceptualized as a systemic and non-linear process. The study contributes to CE theory by reframing barriers as potential drivers of innovation and provides practical strategies, combining policy instruments, Industry 4.0 technologies, and collaborative governance to guide multinational firms in accelerating circular transitions across diverse regulatory contexts. University students face rising mental health pressures, making restorative environmental perception (REP) in campus forests critical for psychological recovery. While environmental factors are recognized contributors, Socio-Ecological Systems (SES) theory emphasizes that environmental and social processes are interdependent. Within this context, informal social interaction (ISI)—low-effort encounters such as greetings or small talk—represent a key social dimension that may complement environmental restoration by fostering comfort and embedded affordances. However, most studies examine these factors separately, often using coarse measures that overlook heterogeneity in restorative mechanisms. This study investigates how environmental-exposure and social–environmental context dimensions jointly shape REP in campus forests, focusing on distributional patterns beyond average effects. Using a Public Participation Geographic Information Systems (PPGIS) approach, 30 students photographed 1294 tree-dominant scenes on a forest-rich campus. Environmental features were quantified via semantic segmentation, and ISI was rated alongside REP. Quantile regression estimated effects across the REP distribution. Three distributional patterns emerged. First, blue exposure and ISI acted as reliable resources, consistently enhancing REP with distinct profiles. Second, green exposure functioned as a threshold-dependent resource, with mid-quantile attenuation but amplified contributions in highly restorative scenes. Third, anthropogenic and demographic factors created conditional barriers with distribution-specific effects. Findings demonstrate that campus forest restoration operates through differentiated socio-ecological mechanisms rather than uniform pathways, informing strategies for equitable, restoration-optimized management. More broadly, the distributional framework offers transferable insights for urban forests as socio-ecological infrastructures supporting both human well-being and ecological resilience. Full article

Ship instance segmentation in remote sensing images is essential for maritime applications such as intelligent surveillance and port management. However, this task remains challenging due to dense target distributions, large variations in ship scales and shapes, and limited high-quality datasets. The existing YOLOv8 framework mainly relies on convolutional neural networks and CIoU loss, which are less effective in modeling global–local interactions and producing accurate mask boundaries. To address these issues, we propose CDSANet, a novel one-stage ship instance segmentation network. CDSANet integrates convolutional operations, Vision Transformers, and attention mechanisms within a unified architecture. The backbone adopts a Convolutional Vision Transformer Attention (CVTA) module to enhance both local feature extraction and global context perception. The neck employs dynamic-weighted DOWConv to adaptively handle multi-scale ship instances, while SIoU loss improves localization accuracy and orientation robustness. Additionally, CBAM enhances the network’s focus on salient regions, and a MixUp-based augmentation strategy is used to improve model generalization. Extensive experiments on the proposed VLRSSD dataset demonstrate that CDSANet achieves state-of-the-art performance with a mask AP (50–95) of 75.9%, surpassing the YOLOv8 baseline by 1.8%. With the digital transformation of the construction industry toward intelligent construction, advanced digital technologies—including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Twins (DTs), and Internet of Things (IoT)—increasingly support Human–Robot Collaboration (HRC), offering productivity gains while introducing new safety risks. This study presents a systematic review of digital technology applications and risk management practices in HRC scenarios within intelligent construction environments. Following the PRISMA protocol, this study retrieved 7640 publications from the Web of Science database. After screening, 70 high-quality studies were selected for in-depth analysis. This review identifies four core digital technologies central to current HRC research: multi-modal acquisition technology, artificial intelligence learning technology (AI learning technology), Digital Twins (DTs), and Augmented Reality (AR). Based on the findings, this study constructed a systematic framework for digital technology in HRC, consisting of data acquisition and perception, data transmission and storage, intelligent analysis and decision support, human–machine interaction and collaboration, and intelligent equipment and automation. The study highlights core challenges across risk management stages, including difficulties in multi-modal fusion (risk identification), lack of quantitative systems (risk assessment), real-time performance issues (risk response), and weak feedback loops in risk monitoring and continuous improvement. Moreover, future research directions are proposed, including trust in HRC, privacy and ethics, and closed-loop optimization. This research provides theoretical insights and practical recommendations for advancing digital safety systems and supporting the safe digital transformation of the construction industry. These research findings hold significant important implications for advancing the digital transformation of the construction industry and enabling efficient risk management. Full article

Background/Objectives: Given the high prevalence of mental health problems in the workplace, fostering disclosure and reducing sickness absence are critical for ensuring timely support and sustaining employees’ work ability. Drawing on the health-oriented riented leadership (HoL) model, this paper examines the associations between staff care, disclosure, and sickness absence, and addresses the underexplored question of whether staff care continues to show beneficial relationships when employees experience acute health deterioration. To account for differing perspectives, we included samples with employees and with leaders. Methods: We conducted three distinct cross-sectional studies with (1) predominantly healthy employees (N1 = 148), (2) employees with severe mental health issues or a diagnosis (N2 = 338), and (3) leaders (N3 = 91). Results: Staff care is positively related to disclosure across all studies. In study 1, this relationship was unexpectedly stronger for low than for high health deterioration, though still significant for high deterioration. In studies 2 and 3, the interaction was non-significant. However, a perceptual gap emerged: simple slopes showed that leaders with low staff care still expected disclosure from employees with high health deterioration (study 3), whereas employees reported higher concealment intentions (study 1). Staff care was negatively related to sickness absence only in study 2, with this relationship strengthened under high health deterioration. Conclusions: Staff care seems particularly relevant for supporting disclosure during early health declines and for mitigating sickness absence during acute deterioration among those already affected. Divergent leader–employee perceptions may hinder timely support. We provide practical recommendations for organizations. Full article

Background: Menopause is associated with metabolic, sensory, and psychosocial changes that may reshape eating behaviours and nutrition-related quality of life. This study explored how women experience nutrition and chemosensory changes during menopause and how these intersect with identity, control, and social practices. Methods: We conducted online focus groups (Microsoft Teams) with women living in Ireland (n = 40; mean age 58.3 years (±4.5 years)) between January and March 2025. Discussions followed a semi-structured guide focused on taste/smell, appetite, food choice, and coping. Sessions were recorded, transcribed, anonymised, and analysed following Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis. Results: Four themes captured patterned meanings in the dataset: (1) Chemosensory Changes—reports of diminished taste, contrasted with heightened smell and selective intensification (sweetness), prompting compensatory behaviours (more salt/spice/strong coffee) and new aversions (e.g., cucumber, spicy dishes) alongside unexpected likes (e.g., dark chocolate); (2) Behavioural and Emotional Consequences—increased snacking, sugar/salt cravings, and perceived loss of satiety co-occurred with weight gain and altered body shape, undermining food pleasure and self-confidence; (3) Interacting Influences—affecting vasomotor symptoms, sleep disturbance, joint pain, and “brain fog” compounded dietary disruptions and social withdrawal (e.g., embarrassment about appetite, reduced desire to dine out); (4) Strategies for Wellbeing—women described medical approaches (HRT, prescribed medications) alongside food modifications and the importance of diagnosis, information, and peer/professional support. Conclusions: Menopause reshapes sensory perception and eating behaviour in complex, individualised ways that extend beyond biology to identity and social life. Nutrition care should integrate symptom management with person-centred strategies and improved access to evidence-based information, diagnosis, and support networks. Full article

Digital marketing has become a game-changer by combining cutting-edge technologies, insights into how customers behave, and applicability across industries to change how businesses plan and how they interact with customers. Digital marketing is a key part of being competitive, sustainable, and innovative in a world where more and more people are using the internet and social media. Even though this subject is important, the study of it is still scattered, which shows that there is a need to systematically map out its intellectual structure. This research utilizes a bibliometric and topic modeling methodology, analyzing 4722 publications sourced from the Scopus database, including the string “Digital Marketing”. The authors employed Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA), a method from Natural Language Processing, to discern latent study themes and Vosviewer 1.6.20 for bibliometric analysis. The results explore ten main thematic clusters, such as digital marketing and blockchain, applications in the health and food industries, higher education and skill enhancement, machine learning and analytics, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and sustainability, emerging trends and ethics, sales transformation, tourism and hospitality, digital media and audience perception, and consumer satisfaction through service quality. These clusters show that digital marketing is becoming more interdisciplinary and is becoming more connected to ethical and technological issues. The report finds that digital marketing research is changing quickly because of artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, immersive technology, and reflect it with a digital business environment. Future directions encompass the expansion of analyses to new economies, the implementation of advanced semantic models, and the navigation of ethical difficulties, thereby guaranteeing that digital marketing fosters both business progress and public welfare. In the digital age, generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) development has brought about structural transformations in higher education. This study examines how students’ regular use of artificial intelligence tools brings a new active player into the educational process. This is an “uninvited assistant” that changes traditional models of teaching and learning. This study was conducted using the following standard methods: bibliometric analysis, student survey using an electronic questionnaire, primary processing and graphical visualization of empirical data, calculation of statistical indicators, t-statistics, and z-statistics. As the results of the bibliometric analysis show, the evolution in the perception and integration of artificial intelligence within higher education discussions, as evidenced by the comparison of network visualizations from 2020 to the present, reveals a significant transformation. Based on a quantitative survey of 1197 undergraduate students in five Eastern European countries, this paper proposes a conceptual shift from the classic two-dimensional (2D) model of higher education services based on university teacher–student interactions to a three-dimensional (3D) model that includes artificial intelligence as a functional third player (an uninvited assistant). Statistical hypothesis testing confirms that students need AI and regularly use it in the learning process, facilitating the emergence of this new player. Based on empirical data, this study presents a hypothetical 3D model (X:Y:Z), where the Z-axis reflects the intensity of AI use. This model challenges traditional didactic frameworks and calls for updating educational policies, ethical standards, and higher education governance systems. By merging digital technologies and social change, the results provide a theoretical and practical basis for rethinking pedagogical relationships and institutional roles in the digital age. Intergroup Meta-Respect Perceptions in a Context of Conflict

Intergroup relations in contexts of conflict are often characterized by mutual disrespect. The present research introduces and examines the concept of intergroup meta-respect—the belief that one’s ingroup is viewed by the outgroup as deserving of respect. Across two studies conducted among Jewish and Arab citizens of Israel, we investigated perceptions of outgroup deservedness of respect, meta-respect, and their implications for intergroup attitudes. Study 1 (N = 451) revealed systematic biases in meta-respect: both groups underestimated the extent to which the outgroup considered their ingroup deserving of respect as human beings. Arabs, however, demonstrated greater accuracy and positivity, perceiving Jews as more deserving of respect than Jews perceived Arabs. Study 2 (N = 326) experimentally tested interventions aimed at correcting these misperceptions by presenting participants with accurate survey data, either with or without explicit correction of misperceptions. Exposure to corrective information increased participants’ feelings of respect, hope, and positive perceptions of the outgroup, and indirectly—through feelings of respect—enhanced willingness to respect and interact with the outgroup, although these effects were more limited among minority (Arab) participants. These findings highlight the critical role of meta-respect in shaping intergroup dynamics, and suggest that interventions targeting respect perceptions hold potential for improving intergroup relations, even amid ongoing intractable conflict. Contextual-Semantic Interactive Perception Network for Small Object Detection in UAV Aerial Images

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)-based aerial object detection has been widely applied in various fields, including logistics, public security, disaster response, and smart agriculture. However, numerous small objects in UAV aerial images are often overwhelmed by large-scale complex backgrounds, making their appearance difficult to distinguish and thereby prone to being missed by detectors. To tackle these issues, we propose a novel Contextual-Semantic Interactive Perception Network (CSIPN) for small object detection in UAV aerial scenarios, which enhances detection performance through scene interaction modeling, dynamic context modeling, and dynamic feature fusion. The core components of the CSIPN include the Scene Interaction Modeling Module (SIMM), the Dynamic Context Modeling Module (DCMM), and the Semantic-Context Dynamic Fusion Module (SCDFM). Specifically, the SIMM introduces a lightweight self-attention mechanism to generate a global scene semantic embedding vector, which then interacts with shallow spatial descriptors to explicitly depict the latent relationships between small objects and complex background, thereby selectively activating key spatial responses. The DCMM employs two dynamically adjustable receptive-field branches to adaptively model contextual cues and effectively supplement the contextual information required for detecting various small objects. The SCDFM utilizes a dual-weighting strategy to dynamically fuse deep semantic information with shallow contextual details, highlighting features relevant to small object detection while suppressing irrelevant background. Our method achieves mAPs of 37.2%, 93.4%, 50.8%, and 48.3% on the TinyPerson dataset, the WAID dataset, the VisDrone-DET dataset, and our self-built WildDrone dataset, respectively, while using only 25.3M parameters, surpassing existing state-of-the-art detectors and demonstrating its superiority and robustness. Prokaryotic Expression and Binding Characteristics of Odor-Binding Protein GqinOBP10 in Gynaephora qinghaiensis

Gynaephora qinghaiensis is a major grassland pest common in the alpine meadows of the western plateau of China, and its biological behavior is affected by the synergy of a variety of chemicals in the environment. OBPs can dissolve and transport odor molecules such as volatile plant compounds through lymphatic fluid, which plays an important olfactory-to-olfactory role. However, the specific function of OBPs in the interaction mechanism between moths and volatile plant compounds is still unknown. The purpose of this study was to analyze the binding characteristics of GqinOBP10 and its volatile plant compounds in moths and to explore its role in the olfactory perception mechanism of moths so as to study the corresponding target ligands and achieve green control. The purified GqinOBP10 was subjected to fluorescence competitive binding to eight ligands. The 3D modeling of GqinOBP10 was carried out by the SWISS-MODEL website, and the molecular docking was carried out by Autodock 4.2.6 software, and the binding of GqinOBP10 to eight ligands was simulated and verified. The results showed that the cloned strain with the full length of GqinOBP10 was cloned. The fluorescence competition binding results showed that GqinOBP10 had strong binding ability to eight volatile plant compounds, among which the binding ability to 2-Amino-1-phenylethanol and 2-Oleoylglycerol was the strongest, and had high binding ability with the other six ligands. The molecular docking results showed that the binding energy of GqinOBP10 and eight odorant molecules was negative, and all of them could form 1~4 hydrogen bond for binding, among which the binding performance with 2-Oleoylglycerol was the best. The findings suggest that dsOBP10 injection leads to a notable decrease in both the expression levels of GqinOBP10 and the antennal potential response in male and female tissues. This indicates that GqinOBP10 is likely crucial for the localization and recognition of host plants in G. qinghaiensis. By silencing GqinOBP10, the olfactory perception of host volatiles is significantly impaired, highlighting the protein’s importance in the caterpillars’ ability to detect and respond to their environment. These insights provide a valuable basis for developing targeted attractants, potentially enhancing pest management strategies by manipulating olfactory cues in these caterpillars. Further research could explore the specific mechanisms by which GqinOBP10 influences olfactory perception and host plant selection. Full article
