Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Zika virus (ZIKV) is a re-emerging pathogenic flavivirus which poses a continued threat for public health. It is transmitted between humans by Aedes mosquitoes and is capable of causing severe outbreaks. Upon infection of pregnant women, the virus can disseminate into the fetal brain, causing severe disruptions to its development. Despite the WHO declaration of ZIKV as a public health emergency, no specific treatment is currently available against the virus.

In this Special Issue, the original studies, reviews, and methodologies aimed at the development of the vaccines against ZIKV are welcome. Furthermore, all studies focused on ZIKV pathogenesis and virus–host interactions are included.
