Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated the importance and efficacy of vaccination in preventing the deadly disease, not only in the general population but also in patients with autoimmune rheumatic diseases who are at higher risk of severe infection or death from a preventable infection.
To achieve a more extensive understanding of recent scientific knowledge and current trends in vaccination in patients with autoimmune diseases, this Special issue aims to focus on (i) the efficacy and safety of vaccines, (ii) humoral and cellular immune response to vaccines in light of immunomodulatory treatment, (iii) the distribution and uptake of vaccines, and (iv) novel vaccination strategies to improve vaccine response in patients with autoimmune diseases.
