Special Issue Information

The aim of this Special Issue is to bring together researchers working on applications of quantum field theory to the problems of the dark universe.  Its goal is to record a snapshot of the diverse contributions of the quantum field theory community to the international and interdisciplinary effort to uncover the fundamental nature of dark matter and dark energy, which together make up around 95% of the energy budget of our universe.

The scope is broad, and all formats of submission are invited: original research articles, letters, review articles and commentaries.  Researchers at all career stages are strongly encouraged to contribute, and submissions that identify key questions will be given the same consideration as those that present key findings.  To remove financial barriers to open access publishing, special issue papers are subject to a flexible waiver policy.  This allows guest editors to select high-quality contributions to be published free of charge.

This Special Issue will be accompanied by an aligned conference intended to facilitate discussion of important results, major obstacles and exciting future directions.  To enable the widest possible engagement and with a view to long-term sustainability, this conference will take place online and will not be subject to registration fees.  Further details will be announced on this webpage once confirmed.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Universe is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
