Special Issue "Ecological Effects of Pharmaceutical Combinations"
Deadline for manuscript submissions: closed (30 June 2020).
Interests: Environmental Health; Ecotoxicolog; Aquatic Toxicology; Pharmaceuticals; Metals; PAHs
Over the last 20 years, a large database has been built regarding the ecological effects of singular pharmaceutical exposure. However, data on the ecological effects of pharmaceuticals in combination are much less prevalent. The proposed Special Issue of Toxics will focus on original research and literature reviews that focus on multi-pharmaceutical risks, hazards, exposures, and/or effects at the species, population, and/or landscape level. Research from aquatic, terrestrial, and atmospheric exposures will be considered. The goal is to develop a comprehensive compilation that illustrates the complex interactions of the thousands of classes of pharmaceuticals and the differential toxicity of pharmaceuticals between and among pharmaceutical classes.
This Special Issue will also bring perspective to the difficulty in addressing the great number of possible pharmaceutical combinations and highlight research needs in aquatic, terrestrial, and atmospheric exposure to ecosystems worldwide.
