Dear Colleagues,
To understand the nature and principle of various complex systems, a finite element method was developed and widely employed to analyze and illustrate the types of physical phenomena.
The finite element method is a powerful mathematical tool which can conduct relative numerical calculations for complex field analyses and then provide accurate results for theoretical analyses, microstructural evolution, and so on. Many phenomena which cannot be detected using experimental observation can be presented using this method. Therefore, it is a significant tool for multidisciplinary research.
By means of rapid developments of computational hardware and algorithm, the finite element method has gained a lot of significant achievements in recent years. The objective of this Special Issue is to emphasize the theories, applications and recent remarkable advances of the finite element method in symmetric or asymmetrical models.
