Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In the field of forensic toxicology, it is sometimes necessary to distinguish the source of poison, whether it is ingested during life, or produced in the body after death, or an exogenous pollutant. For example, ethanol or γ-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) detected in postmortem blood might be from antemortem consumption or postmortem formation. The accuracy and reliability of the identification results are crucial to the determination of liability and case investigation. Analysis of biomarkers of poisons in biological samples (such as blood, urine, vitreous humor, hair, and nail) is an important way to distinguish the source of the poison.

This Special Issue will highlight advances in the analysis of biomarkers of poisons in biological samples for forensic purposes. I would like to invite researchers working in this field to contribute with original research papers, short communications, as well as review articles.
