Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
A unique approach to collaboration and coordination in remote sensing and earth observation was held from August 22–26 in Brisbane, Australia, by the inaugural Advancing Earth Observation Forum (AEO22). The Advancing Earth Observation Forum 2022 was created so that everyone can actively engage, contribute, learn, and connect with others in the Earth observation (EO) community. AEO22 is an engaging experience for individuals, businesses, organisations, and students, and aims to help us understand the Australian and global EO communities and their needs.
As part of the Forum's objectives to increase communication, collaboration, and coordination, we are opening this Special Issue in the "Ecological Remote Sensing" Section of the Remote Sensing Journal to enable Forum participants to submit their work for consideration as a publication in Remote Sensing. The submission can come from any of the Forum's presentations, talks, EO360, posters, or workshops.
The types of work to be included will be (i) measuring and monitoring ecological structures and processes from plant to global scales; (ii) monitoring the impacts of environmental management practices on ecological structures and processes; (iii) separating anthropogenic impacts from natural environment variability; (iv) assessing error and communication effectively for ecological remote sensing application; (v) linking indigenous ecological understanding with Earth observations.
Full papers are due by 28 February 2023.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Remote Sensing is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2500 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
