Welcome to Laboratory for Soft Intelligent Materials and Devices, at School of Optical and Electronic Information, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). Our lab is located at Wuhan, China.
Our interdisciplinary research interfaces on the materials science, optoelectronics, mechanics, nanotechnology, and engineering. The focus of our group is the understanding and development of novel materials, devices and mechanism bridging the hard machine and soft human body. Taking advantage of cutting edge engineering, soft-matter technologies, computing, simulations, we are dedicated to design and fabricate soft and smart devices and systems with extraordinary functions, addressing the challenges of capturing, transportation, manipulation of information in human bodies. Our research including: design and manufacturing of soft intelligent materials, soft robotics, flexible electronics, and soft intelligent metamaterials.
Dr. Jianfeng Zang, Professor of School of Optical and Electronic Information, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He received his PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at University of South Carolina and Duke University. He has received several prestigious awards including: HUST Bird Nest Program (2013), National 1000 Young Talent Program (2014)，Duke University Kewaunee Postdoctoral Achievement Award (2014), MRS Meeting Session Chair (2014 spring, San Francisco), Program Chair of The 3rd International Symposium of Flexible and Stretchable Electronics 2017 (Wuhan, China), He has published over 46 papers in prestigious journals including Nature Materials, Nature Communications, Nano Letters, Advanced Materials, JMPS, EML, etc. His papers have received more than 2500 citations with an H-index 23. He has 5 ISI Essential Science Indicators Top 1% highly cited papers. He served as the Editorial Board Member of Polymers. Dr. Zang are PIs for several National Grants including National Key R & D Projects.
We are looking for Postdoctoral Fellows in the following research areas:
1. Design and manufacturing of soft intelligent materials including additive manufacturing of shape-memory polymers, PEEK, hydrogels. Knowledge in polymer physics and polymer chemistry is a plus.
2. Flexible and stretchable electronics including sensors, actuators, and soft robotics.
3. Soft metamaterials for photonics, phononics.
Postdocs in our group will be offered highly competitive salary ~200 K RMB and benefits packages from HUST, with the option to be promoted to academic faculties.
