Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
While there is accumulating evidence from observational studies that moderate alcohol consumption may be associated with certain health outcomes including mortality, cardiovascular disease, and type 2 diabetes, the role of confounding (i.e., by dietary patterns, social economic status, etc.) has not been fully elucidated. Furthermore, emerging data suggest that drinking patterns may play an important role when assessing the relation of moderate drinking with health outcomes. Lastly, limited data are available on beverage-specific associations of moderate alcohol consumption with health outcomes. This Special Issue will address these important gaps by focusing on the role of drinking patterns, confounding, and beverage types when evaluating associations of moderate alcohol consumption with health outcomes. Examples of suitable papers for this Special Issue may include original papers, narrative and systematic reviews/meta-analyses, and short-term interventional human studies to elucidate biologic mechanisms.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Nutrients is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
