Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Gastric Cancer (GC), with over than a million of new diagnosis in 2018, represents the fifth most diagnosed neoplasm worldwide.

Obesity and dietary factors are between the most important risk factors for GC development, while malnutrition is often present in diagnosticated GC patients due to some major issues: tumor presence can lead to a reduction in food intake and absorption and the inflammatory status itself conduct to an overt malnutrition condition. Nutritional issues are fundamentals for the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocol, a benchmark in 2020 for gastric surgery, and for the supportive care during chemotherapies, while its role during palliative care it is still under debate.

We kindly invite you to contribute to this Special Issue in Nutrients, aiming to broadly cover GC related nutrition issues: from the diet as a risk factor and/or prevention, to nutrition and palliative care, passing through GC-related malnutrition, ERAS protocol and its update, and nutritional interventions during chemotherapies.
