Special Issue "Selected Papers from the Green Extraction of Natural Products 2018"

The International Congress on “Green Extraction of Natural Products” (2018) is organized by the University of Bari (Interdisciplinary Department of Medicine and Department of Pharmacy-Pharmaceutical Sciences) and Polytechnic of Bari (Department of Mechanics, Mathematics and Management)—Italy.
GENP2018 is focused on agro-food, perfume, cosmetic, nutraceutical, chemical, fuel and energy sectors. The whole value chain of every application is considered; including cultivation, extraction, purification, processing and recycling steps.
GENP 2018, “Green Extraction of Natural Product”, aims to discuss advances in this interdisciplinary area, dealing with innovative techniques, alternative solvents, original procedures, comprehension of intensification mechanisms, by products valorization, and the green impacts and sustainable footprints.
In the field of extraction of natural products and conventional methods, mostly using organic solvents, have major drawbacks, such as insufficient recovery of extracts, long extraction times, high amounts of by-products and wastes, and high energy consumption. In recent years, the trend of extraction has moved to “sustainability”, making a transition to “Green Extraction”, to develop more “sustainable” processes using alternative solvents, less energy, and reducing waste, while ensuring the quality of final products.
A number of selected high-impact full text papers, as extended version, will be considered for this Special Issue of Molecules, a peer-reviewed open access scientific journal that focuses on all aspects of synthetic organic chemistry and natural product chemistry.The papers will cover the following topics:

The aim of GENP 2018 is to develop a platform for promoting cooperation between scientists sharing scientific interests in Green Extraction of Natural Products from European and other countries and to support cooperation between scientists in this field. Excellent speakers from all over the world will present their results within individual sections of GENP 2018.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
