The 3D Metrology Conference 2026

The 3D Metrology Conference (3DMC) will take place on 8–10 September 2026 at Loughborough University’s London campus at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in East London.
We welcome presentations on portable and large-volume applications and technologies, but we would also like to see presentations on 3D from other perspectives. For example, we would like to hear from users and developers of AI for 3D Analysis, Motion Capture, X-Ray Computed Tomography, CMMs and 3D Surface Metrology. Indeed, one of our recently announced keynote presentations will focus on better integrating metrology into the fascinating area of cultural heritage recording.
Our conference offers the following opportunities:
- Talks and posters featuring success stories from end users and latest research advances in industrial metrology;
- Extensive networking opportunities including two dedicated evening events open to all conference attendees and exhibitors;
- Informative exhibition booths and hands-on workshops displaying state-of-the-art technologies from leading manufacturers and new start-ups;
- A relaxed and open-minded atmosphere guaranteeing cross-sector discussions on new and improved applications of metrology;
The organizers include the machine tool laboratory (WZL) of RWTH Aachen University, the UK’s National Physical Laboratory (NPL), University College London (UCL), Loughborough University and the research and technology company Tekniker, based in Spain’s Basque Country.
