Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

It is an honor to be Guest Editor of the Special Issue “Research Progress in Welding Technology of Alloys”. We invite you to contribute research papers or reviews to this Special Issue.

Alloys are used in various fields of modern industrial manufacturing, such as aeronautics and astronautics, shipbuilding, nuclear, automobile, railway, pipeline, etc. The welding of alloys, including the same or dissimilar materials, is a common manufacturing process. To meet the requirements of the components after welding, welded joints with good formation and properties have to be achieved. At present, many types of welding methods have been applied for combining alloys, such as laser welding, arc welding, laser-arc hybrid welding, plasma welding, friction stir welding, explosive welding, and so on.

The purpose of this Special Issue is to provide a communication platform for scientists, researchers, and engineers around the world to present their achievements regarding research progress in welding alloys. Contributions are therefore cordially invited to this Special Issue with topics covering, but not limited to, the following areas: the current state of the art in the welding of alloys, the processes of all types of welding methods, modeling and simulation of welding processes, experimental investigations of welding processes, optimization of welding process parameters, formation mechanisms of joints, the microstructure of joints, and the mechanical properties of the joints.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Materials is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2300 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
