Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to announce the upcoming release of a Special Issue dedicated to “The Tribology of Rotor-Bearing Systems”. This Special Issue aims to gather the latest research findings, technological advancements, and application cases related to the tribology of bearing-rotor systems from around the globe, providing a platform for communication and learning for researchers and engineers in relevant fields.

The tribology of rotor-bearing systems is a crucial area in mechanical engineering, dealing with interactions, friction performance, wear mechanisms, and lubrication techniques between bearings and rotors. Optimizing tribological performance is of utmost importance for enhancing the operational efficiency, reducing energy losses, and prolonging the lifespan of rotor-bearing systems.

In this Special Issue, we warmly welcome submissions of original research papers from researchers sharing their latest research achievements and innovative technologies centered around the tribology of rotor-bearing systems.

We encourage submissions related to bearing design, material selection, lubrication techniques, friction and wear mechanisms, fault diagnosis, and preventive maintenance. We are particularly interested in studies that have practical applications and can drive technological advancements in the tribology of rotor-bearing systems.

The deadline for submissions is 31 December 2024, and papers will undergo rigorous peer review before being published. We sincerely invite researchers and engineers to actively participate and jointly promote the developing tribology of rotor-bearing systems.

We look forward to receiving your submissions!

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Lubricants is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
