Dear Colleagues,
Big data and machine learning have generated tremendous global attention in recent years. Machine learning methods are being applied comprehensively to change modern life in many ways. Indeed, machine learning has been widely used in big health data analysis to revolutionize the current procedures for disease diagnosis, prevention, and treatment. Recently studies have also shown that machine learning and big data have immense potential to improve patient outcomes by 30% to 40% while reducing treatment costs by up to 50%. The rise of machine learning in the era of big data demonstrates that it can improve the speed and accuracy of physicians’ work. This Special Issue aims to discuss the role of big data and machine learning in medicine.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Life is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
