Insights into Urological Surgery: Evolving Practices, Trends, and Emerging Challenges

This special issue belongs to the section “Nephrology & Urology“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Urological surgery is undergoing a profound transformation driven by technological innovation, refined surgical techniques, and an increasing focus on functional and quality-of-life outcomes. Advances in robotic and minimally invasive approaches, enhanced perioperative pathways, and the integration of imaging and digital technologies are reshaping decision-making and operative strategy across the spectrum of urological diseases. At the same time, emerging challenges, such as standardizing surgical training, expanding access to high-technology platforms, and optimizing long-term oncologic and functional results, underscore the need for continuous critical evaluation and high-quality clinical evidence.

This Special Issue welcomes original research articles, reviews, and case reports that address the current evolution of urological surgery. Topics of interest include innovations in surgical techniques, perioperative optimization, complication prevention, advances in reconstructive and functional surgery, long-term outcome assessment, and quality-of-life outcomes. By gathering multidisciplinary expertise and contemporary clinical experiences, this Special Issue aims to provide an updated reference for clinicians and contribute to shaping the future of urological surgical care.
