Project title: Engineering plant cell walls for improved biomass A position for one post-doc research associate is available immediately in the Plant Research Laboratory, Michigan State University in the laboratory of Dr. Federica Brandizzi Research will focus on the cell biology of cell wall deposition in model dicot and monocot species, using multidisciplinary approaches, including proteomics, biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology, genomics and advanced live-cell imaging. We are interested in characterizing novel proteins necessary for the biosynthesis and storage of hemicellulose during growth. Candidates for the position should have a Ph.D., a record of publication in peer-reviewed journals and a strong background in cellular and molecular biology. Experience in the plant secretory pathway is desirable.
