Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

As a popular beverage worldwide, tea contains abundant flavor compounds that have potential health benefits to humans. Tea production importantly contributes to an increase in farmers’ income and the alleviation of poverty in rural areas. Agronomical practices, including nutrient management, directly affects not only tea yield, but also the metabolism of flavor-related primary and secondary components, such as amino acids (e.g., theanine), flavonoids, alkaloids, lipids, and pigments. Moreover, nutrient management further affects soil health and environmental quality, thereby playing an important role in the sustainable development of the tea industry.

Recently, the development of multi-omics technology has provided a powerful platform for studying and deepening our understanding of tea growth and quality in response to soil properties, environmental conditions, and nutrient supply. A Special Issue, "Nutrient Management in Tea Plant and Its Omics Analysis", will be set up to show such advances.
