Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Cooperative game theory has proven to be a powerful tool for the analysis of many problems arising in economic theory, with the core and the Shapley value being prominent examples. In the literature, several cooperative solutions for complete information games and economic games have been extended to to the case in which agents have private information. In the framework of cooperative games with asymmetric information, several natural questions arise:

  • What is the mechanism by which the members of a coalition share their private information?
  • Given an information sharing mechanism, do coalition members have an incentive to honestly report their private information?
  • What information sharing mechanisms are incentive compatible?

These questions have been addressed in the case of several solutions for cooperative games, and it is the goal of this Special Issue to bring together recent results in this area.
