Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite you to submit your contributions to this Special Issue of Energies on the subject area of “Perovskite Solar Cells: Latest Advances and Prospects”. The research of hybrid inorganic–organic metal halide perovskites in photovoltaic and optoelectronic applications has been expanding exponentially. Low materials and processing cost, stability and high photoconversion efficiency exceeding 25% are considered the pillars of this promising technology. However, a further development and an adequate optimization are essential to impact on the near future of the energy industry and replace current solar cell technologies.

This Special Issue on Perovskite Solar Cells: Latest Advances and Prospects will collect a series of research articles to explore a thorough overview of state-of-the-art mainly emerging perovskite materials and their properties, engineering devices in perovskite solar cells, and their numerous applications. Understanding principal properties and electrical and/or ionic mechanisms that occur under working conditions are the aim of this Special Issue.

Particularly, topics of interest for publication might include:

  • Perovskite morphology and processing improvements;
  • Fundamental physics and chemistry properties of perovskite materials;
  • Characterization and engineering of perovskite solar cells;
  • Selective extraction layer and energy band engineering;
  • Additive role of either perovskite or extraction layer;
  • 2D perovskite devices;
  • Pb-free perovskite devices and advances;
  • Stability studies on perovskite solar cells;
  • Other applications (perovskite light-emitting diode, detectors, lasing devices, etc.).

We are looking for multidisciplinary collaborations in order to gather the most recent advances in the field. We hope you can join us in this Special Issue by contributing original research articles related to the theme that we have suggested; however, those articles that fall outside the scope of this theme are always welcome.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
