Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
A Stirling generator consists of a Stirling engine and an electric motor (including rotary or linear motors). It is an external combustion thermoelectric conversion device that exhibits excellent adaptability to various heat sources. Furthermore, since it primarily uses working fluids such as helium and nitrogen, it causes no environmental pollution. Compared to traditional thermoelectric conversion devices, it offers the advantages of a long service life and high reliability. Additionally, since the theoretical efficiency of the Stirling engine is comparable to the Carnot efficiency, it is highly efficient and can therefore serve as a key technology for achieving a clean and efficient energy transition.
This Special Issue, “Advanced Stirling Power Generation and Energy Utilization Systems,” aims to capture the state of the art and future directions in this rapidly evolving field. Our objective is to provide a comprehensive platform for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to share the innovative methods and technologies related to Stirling cycle theory, predictive models, prototypes, systems, and testing.
We invite high-quality original research and review articles on topics including, but not limited to, the following: Stirling engines; Stirling cogeneration technology; Stirling heat pumps; control theory for Stirling engines; novel Stirling power generation technologies and theories; and the application of AI in design, data processing, and performance analysis.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
