Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent years, with the deployment of renewable energy sources, advances in electrified transportation, and development in smart grids, the markets for large-scale stationary energy storage have grown rapidly. Electrochemical energy storage methods are strong candidate solutions due to their high energy density, flexibility, and scalability. Several surveys report that electrochemical energy storage systems are the solution for assisting intermittent renewable energy generators, with short-to long-time-scale energy storage, because of their site versatility, modularity that allows wide scalability, and ease of operation. Therefore, this Special Issues focuses on technologies of electrochemical energy storage considered in grid-connected and power electronics-based applications.

The topics of interest include but are not limited to:

Rechargeable batteries
Redox flow batteries (RFBs)
Vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFBs)
Lithium-ion batteries (Li-ion)
Sodium sulfur batteries (NaS)

Manuscript Submission Information

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Electronics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
