Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent years, there has been a growing interest among educational institutions in adapting to the digital age, looking for more flexible, inclusive, and resilient models. The European 2020 Strategy and the UN Agenda 2030 have highlighted the importance of ensuring quality education for all, with a focus on inclusion. Indeed, Sustainable Development Goal 4 emphasizes the need to provide equitable lifelong learning opportunities while promoting diversity. In this context, digital technologies are fundamental, as they allow for the teaching process to be adapted to the individual needs of learners, favoring inclusion and the development of essential skills.

This Special Issue will accept original research articles which analyze the use of digital technologies in education to improve the inclusion of all people and which provide technological solutions to improve equity and accessibility in education.

Papers are therefore expected to include rigorous analyses about the use of innovative resources and strategies to support the learning of students with diverse needs and abilities. Systematic literature reviews that address accessible designs, the adaptation of educational resources, the use of assistive technologies, and the creation of inclusive educational environments are also welcome.

The suggested topics include the following:

  1. Digital inclusion and universal learning design;
  2. digital divide, digital inclusion, and inclusive education;
  3. digital technologies for accessibility;
  4. innovation and inclusive education;
  5. equity and inclusion in education;
  6. teacher training in inclusive digital competences.
