Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Bone metastases remain a significant challenge in medicine and science. They are common in advanced breast cancer, leading to considerable morbidity and mortality, and serve as a well-studied example of the mechanisms underlying invasion and metastasis. Notably, breast cancer stands out as the only cancer for which bone metastasis prevention has been achieved using bone-targeted agents. This distinction underscores the progress made in breast cancer research and highlights the potential for similar advances in other cancers.
Patients with bone metastases from breast cancer, particularly those with luminal disease, can live for years with appropriate treatment. This usually involves anticancer agents in association with bone-targeted agents and a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach, including radiotherapy and surgery. The combined efforts of different specialties are essential to improving patient outcomes and their quality of life.
In this issue, we invite you to explore key clinical features and join us in addressing new questions surrounding bone metastases in breast cancer. Your contributions will help advance understanding and promote innovative solutions in this critical area.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Cancers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
