Dear Colleagues,
Platform technologies have become the foundation of modern digital society, enabling a wide range of applications in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, the Internet of Things, cybersecurity, communication networks, data-driven services and human-centered computing. As these technologies continue to evolve and converge, new platform architectures and intelligent computing systems are required to address the growing demands for scalability, security, efficiency and interoperability across diverse application domains.
This Special Issue aims to present recent advances in platform technologies and intelligent computing systems, covering both fundamental research and practical engineering solutions. We welcome original research articles and review papers on novel algorithms, system architectures, software platforms, communication technologies, intelligent services, cybersecurity, data analytics, human–computer interaction and interdisciplinary applications that contribute to the advancement of modern computing platforms. We particularly encourage submissions that demonstrate innovative methodologies, real-world implementations or comprehensive experimental evaluations.
This Special Issue is organized in collaboration with the 2026 International Conference on Platform Technology and Service (PlatCon-26). Extended versions of selected high-quality conference papers will be invited for submission after the conference. These manuscripts should contain substantial new technical contributions beyond the conference versions and will undergo the standard peer-review process of Applied Sciences. We also warmly welcome high-quality submissions from researchers who did not participate in the conference, provided that their work falls within the scope of this Special Issue.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
