Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The development of civilization is inextricably linked with its accompanying animals. They are, in a broad sense, a source of food and industrial raw materials, are helpful in many work and crisis situations, and have a psychological effect as companion animals. These relationships provide a person with many benefits, but they can also pose risks in terms of the progress and spread of zoonoses. They are a particularly important aspect of human health, and indirectly of animals. This view justifies the concept of "one health" for humans, animals and the environment. Parasitic zoonoses are of special importance among this group of diseases.
The changing environmental, climatic, and socioeconomic conditions as well as the fashion for having animals make it a group of diseases with a particularly high potential of occurrence. Among them, we can distinguish newly "emerging zoonoses", which were brought from different zones of occurrence and occur in new environments. A separate group consists of forgotten zoonoses, considered to be already controlled/eradicated, which reappear and spread dynamically.
In this Special Issue, we invite you to submit original manuscripts on all aspects of parasitic zoonoses. The topics of invasiology, pathogenesis, and new diagnostic and therapeutic solutions concerning various parasitic zoonoses are of particular interest. We recommend special attention to emerging and recurrent diseases, which are the subject of studies by many parasitologists and clinicians.
