Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Technology is used to increase the profits and economic sustainability of farming families, but it is also a health and safety hazard in this dangerous profession. Digital agricultural technologies that make farming more effective and efficient are still in the research and testing phase, providing a good opportunity to evaluate and address safety concerns in their adaptation. The safety of agricultural workers should also be ensured when operating autonomous farm vehicles and platforms such as robots and UAVs, as well as assistance tools such as Big Data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Studies should also focus on providing farm workers with the knowledge and skills to use the current technology to maintain its economic viability and its safety in physically challenging agricultural work environments.
