Summary

Over the past decade, significant strides have been made in the imaging techniques, biomarkers, treatment, and rehabilitation for ischemic stroke patients. The widespread adoption of intravenous thrombolysis and endovascular thrombectomy in select patient groups has become the global standard of care, leading to notable improvements in functional outcomes and a reduction in disability. Despite these advancements, the burden of ischemic stroke remains substantial, as it continues to be a leading cause of disability and mortality. This Special Issue features research that aims to highlight the recent progress in the evaluation, imaging, treatment, and prognostication of patients with acute ischemic stroke.
