Torsten Thiele

Torsten Thiele is a Senior Research Associate for the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS), Potsdam, Germany. He is an ocean governance expert based at the IASS. He researches innovative ocean solutions and supports policy development, drawing on over 20 years of experience in project and infrastructure finance. Recent publications address blue infrastructure and nature-based solutions, innovative high seas finance, marine conservation, blue bonds, deep sea governance and ocean climate finance.
