Dr. Belizario Amador Zarate Torres is a Full Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geosciences, Universidad Tecnica Particular de Loja (UTPL), Ecuador, where he has worked since 2008. He completed his PhD in Civil Engineering, specializing in Construction and Land Engineering, at the University of Granada, Spain (2024), and holds a Master's degree in Geological Engineering applied to Civil Works from the same university (2010) and an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from UTPL (2002).
From 2021 to 2026, he served as Director of the Civil Engineering program. He has authored 18 publications in journals such as Remote Sensing and Sustainability, and has led research on GNSS/RPAS integration for landslide monitoring and pavement evaluation using photogrammetry and UAVs.
