Dr. Zeb Hussain is a Lecturer/Medical Technologist at the Dow Institute of Medical Technology, Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), Karachi, Pakistan. He holds a BSc, BS in Medical Laboratory Technology, Executive MBA, MPhil in Pathology (Microbiology), and PhD in Medical Microbiology. He has extensive experience in clinical diagnostics, microbiology laboratories, medical education, and infectious disease research. His research focuses on antimicrobial resistance, molecular epidemiology, carbapenemase-producing Gram-negative bacteria, ventilator-associated pneumonia, healthcare-associated infections, bacterial genomics, and molecular diagnostics. His work integrates phenotypic and molecular characterization, PCR, DNA sequencing, phylogenetic analysis, and clinical/environmental surveillance of multidrug-resistant pathogens. Dr. Hussain has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in the fields of clinical microbiology, antimicrobial resistance, bloodstream infections, ventilator-associated pneumonia, and infectious disease surveillance. He is actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students and contributes to advancing laboratory quality systems, infection prevention strategies, and evidence-based healthcare research.
