Author Biographies

Marco Bietresato is an Associate Professor at the University of Udine, Northern Italy, where he conducts research and teaches within the scientific discipline AGRI-04/B – Agricultural Mechanics. He has a solid, multidisciplinary background: after graduating in Mechanical Engineering with a specialisation in Vehicle Engineering, he went on to obtain two PhDs (in Industrial Engineering and in Mechanical Technologies for Agricultural and Forestry Processes). This career path has led him to develop a broad engineering perspective, capable of combining scientific rigour, technological innovation and attention to the specific characteristics of agri-food and rural systems. Endowed with scientific curiosity, analytical skills and a systemic approach, he is constantly engaged in the search for innovative and sustainable solutions to address the challenges of the ecological and digital transition in agriculture and the agri-food industry, and is open to new research collaborations with research institutions and companies.
