Kavita Behara is a Senior Lecturer at the Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT). She holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). Her academic work is grounded in both teaching excellence and impactful research. She is a recipient of two Vice-Chancellor’s Teaching and Learning Awards and an Emerging Researcher Award, reflecting her commitment to high-quality education and scholarly contribution. Dr Behara has led two research projects and has published 17 peer-reviewed papers in academic journals. In addition to her research, she serves as a reviewer and is an active member of professional organisations, including INCOSE, IITPSA, and IEEE. Her teaching areas include software design, development, and programming, with an emphasis on practical and industry-relevant skills. Her research interests focus on artificial intelligence applications in healthcare, renewable energy, and education, with the aim of developing innovative and sustainable technological solutions.
