Author Biographies

Dr. Tania Bahamondez-Canas is a Professor at the Universidad de Valparaíso, Chile. She holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery from the University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on the development of advanced pharmaceutical formulations and drug delivery strategies to combat bacterial biofilm-associated infections, particularly in chronic wounds and respiratory diseases. Her work has been supported by academic and research grants from the Chilean National Agency for Research and Development (ANID), including PAI 77190010 and FONDECYT 11190348 and 1251689, aimed at developing therapies for chronic infections. She has also participated as a co-investigator in FONDEF-funded applied research projects (ID19I10028, ID21I10153, ID24I10165, ID25I10420, and IT25I0138), aimed at translating scientific advances into innovative formulation-based solutions. Dr. Bahamondez-Canas is a co-director of the Center for Research, Development, and Innovation of Bioactive Products (CInBIO) at the Universidad de Valparaíso.
