Aleksandr N. Grekov is Head of the Hydroacoustics Laboratory at the A.O. Kovalevsky Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He completed his PhD studies in the Instruments and Methods for Control and Determination of Substance Composition at the Marine Hydrophysical Institute, and was awarded the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in 2011. He has been awarded multiple prizes for inventive activity, including the First Prize named after Academician A.G. Kolesnikov for a series of scientific works, and was a finalist of the national “Leaders of Russia” competition (Science track). He has published more than 100 scientific papers (including 22 indexed in Scopus) and holds 15 patents. His research interests include marine environmental instrumentation, hydroacoustic monitoring, autonomous robotic systems for aquatic environments, acoustic and optical methods for hydrosphere studies, and intelligent environmental monitoring technologies.
