M. Tarık Ablak received his undergraduate training in Islamic theology at 29 Mayıs University (2016) and completed his graduate education with an MA in Turkish literature from Boğaziçi University (2020) and a PhD in Turkish and Ottoman literature from Marmara University (2025). He currently works as a research assistant at Sakarya University. His research focuses on early-modern and modern Ottoman poetry and genre theory, engaging with questions of literary form, religious experience, and mystical discourse. He works primarily on majmuas and the ghazal and qasida traditions within Ottoman literature and their connections to Islamic thought. His broader interests lie in the comparative study of Arabic, Persian, Ottoman, and Urdu literary traditions, with a focus on transregional literary interactions across the Islamic world.
