Jiji Panicker K. received his Bachelor's degree (B.Tech.) in Civil Engineering from Kerala University, India, in 1990, and his Master's degree (M.Tech) in Structural Engineering from the Regional Engineering College, Calicut, Kerala, India (presently, National Institute of Technology, Calicut). He was the 6th rank holder for the Bachelor's degree, whereas he was the top for the Master's. He is now pursuing a PhD in Structural Engineering (Civil Engineering Department) as a research scholar (External). He worked as a Junior Engineer (Civil) in the Central Public Works Department, Govt. of India during 1992-93 before joining Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) in 1993 as Assistant Engineer (Civil). In 1997, he was promoted to Assistant Executive Engineer, and successively to Executive Engineer and Deputy Chief Engineer. His experience in KSEB included investigation, design, supervision, execution, dam rehabilitation and project monitoring of various hydroelectric projects. He also worked as a Senior Structural Engineer and Engineering Manager in the UAE for three years. He is a Chartered Engineer of the Institution of Engineers (India) and holds memberships in the Structural Engineering Forum of India (SEFI) and the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI). He published a book Chapter (Springer) and three incredible conference papers. His research topics mainly include Dam Engineering, Hydrology and Structural Engineering, and rehabilitation works of hydraulic structures.
