Dr. Ljiljana Lukic obtained her medical degree (1995), specialization in Internal Medicine (2000), subspecialization in Endocrinology (2005), Master's degree in Endocrinology (2003), and PhD (2014) from the Medical School, University of Belgrade, Serbia. She has been working at the Clinic for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Disorders Institute, Department for Metabolic Disorders, Intensive Treatment and Cell Therapy in Diabetes, Clinical Centre of Serbia since 1995. After becoming a specialist in Internal medicine, her research was more focused on clinical work, and her PhD thesis dealt with insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, and hypertension. However, she does have experience in blood glucose monitoring using CGM and insulin pumps as a treatment for patients with type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and especially diabetes during pregnancy. Dr. Lukic’s strong scientific background, combined with a compassionate personality, made her a teacher by being a clinical assistant of Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade since 2011 and Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine, University of Belgrade since 2018.

Prof. Nebojsa Lalic was born on 14 January 1958 in Belgrade. He graduated from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Medicine in 1982 with an average grade of 10.00. He defended his master’s thesis in 1986 and his doctoral dissertation in 1993. At the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Belgrade, he was elected assistant trainee (1989), assistant (1991), assistant professor (1995), part-time (1999), and full professor (2007). He has been the dean of the University of Belgrade Faculty of Medicine since the 2012/2013 school year. He is a member of the Endocrinology Section of the Serbian Medical Society (1983), the Atherosclerosis Association of Serbia (1999), the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (1989), the American Diabetes Association (1991), the European Group for the Study of Insulin Resistance (1994), the International Diabetes Federation (2002), and other associations. He is an honorary member of the Association of Endocrinologists and Diabetologists of the Republika Srpska and the Association for Diabetes, Nutrition and Metabolism of Serbia. He has been a regular member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts since 2012.
