Hamed H. Aly received his B.Eng. and M.A.Sc. (Hons.) in Electrical Engineering from Zagazig University, Egypt in 1999 and 2005, respectively. Then, he received his Ph.D. from Dalhousie University, Canada in 2012. After graduation, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate for one year and an Instructor for three years at Dalhousie University. He worked at Acadia University as an Assistant Professor for three years. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Dalhousie University. His research interests include renewable energy resources, smart grid, applications of artificial intelligence in power systems, micro-grids, power system operation and control, energy management and optimization, distributed generation, power system dynamics and stability analysis, power electronics, vehicle to grid, and power quality issues.
