Author Biographies

Dr. Joseph E. Quansah is an Associate Professor, the Founding Director of the Geospatial Center, and the Founding Director of the Agricultural and Environmental Sciences PhD program at Tuskegee University. Dr. Quansah received his PhD in Agricultural and Biological Engineering in 2007 and an MSE in Civil Engineering in 2004, both from Purdue University in Indiana. He also has a graduate certificate in Earth Observation from KU Leuven in Belgium, earned in 2005. His bachelor’s degree is in Geomatics Engineering, completed in 1999. His research, teaching, and extension activities focus on hydrology, integrated modeling, remote sensing, geospatial and data science, precision and digital agriculture, geographic information systems, artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in satellite image processing, soils and water conservation, adverse weather and drought impacts on water resources, agriculture, and forestry, as well as crop modeling, resilience, and adaptation for sustainable water resources and agricultural and forestry management. Dr. Quansah has secured close to USD 5 million in extramural grant funding as a principal investigator and over USD 12 million as a co-principal investigator or collaborator. He has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed journal articles and delivered numerous presentations at academic and professional conferences and meetings. He has served as a major advisor to over 30 graduate students.
Ruben D. Doria earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2018 and an M.S. in Civil Engineering in 2019 from Universidad del Norte, followed by an M.S. in Environmental Science from Tuskegee University in 2024. He is currently a Water Resources Engineer at WSP USA. His work in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, river morphodynamics, flood risk assessment, and water resources management has resulted in peer-reviewed publications, books, and presentations at academic and professional conferences. His research interests include surface water hydrology, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, river morphodynamics, flood risk assessment, remote sensing applications, and data-driven approaches to water resources management.
Eniola E. Olakanmi received his M.Sc. in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, in 2023 and later completed an M.Sc. in Environmental Science at Tuskegee University in 2024. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Engineering at Tuskegee University, where he also serves as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the Geospatial Center. His research interests include hydrology, precision agriculture, water resources management, geospatial analytics, and environmental data science.
Dr. Souleymane Fall received his PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from Purdue University in 2009. He is an Associate Professor at Tuskegee University and serves in the College of Agriculture, Environment, and Nutrition Sciences as the Director of Online Graduate Programs and as a Faculty Coordinator in the Office of Distance Education and Online Learning. His research employs geographic information systems, remote sensing, and statistical analyses of climatic and socioeconomic data to examine climate variability and change, the impacts of land use and land cover on near-surface climate, and the social dimensions of climate change. His work also focuses on climate and health vulnerability assessments.
