Dr. Leslie Landaeta-Díaz is a professor at the University of the Americas. She is the Director of the Center for Research in Nutrition and Food Sciences and a researcher with the UDLA Network of Women Researchers in Chile. She holds a PhD in Biomedicine. Her experience, which includes 14 years of teaching and applied research, as well as 4 years of studies on the Mediterranean diet, physical exercise, and quality of life in Spain, has enabled her to develop national and international projects on the psychosocial determinants of diet and nutrition during the pandemic. Currently, she is interested in nutritional epidemiology, food and urban planning, food security, and sustainability, with a focus on public health.
Gladys Morales received a Master's Degree in Nutrition and Food and Dietitian, with a specialization in Health Promotion and Prevention of Nutrition-Related Diseases, from the University of Chile (2010), and a PhD in Public Health from the Public University of Navarra (UPNA) (2017). She is now currently working on topics about the epidemiology and prevention of cardio-metabolic diseases through diet and lifestyle and working as an associated professor at the University of La Frontera. Her experience includes Management of the Statistical Software STATA 15.0. and being a researcher of the competitive grant FONDECYT and UFRO (PIAF and DIUFRO).
Melissa Miranda Durán received her Master's degree (2010) and Ph.D. (2015) in Nutrition and Food from the University of Chile. She currently works at the Instituto de Nutrición y Tecnología de los Alimentos (INTA), University of Chile. She is also a technical advisor on health research and resource mobilization at the Institute for Research in Health and Development, Universidad Mayor de San Andres. Her research mostly focuses on Nutrition and Dietetics. In 2020, she worked as a consultant for the Pan American Health Organization and moved to serve as a lecturer and member of the scientific committee for PhD studies in Public Health at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés.
