Cesare Gridelli, MD, is currently the Chief of the Division of Medical Oncology at the S.G. Moscati Hospital, Avellino (Italy), and Director of the Department of Oncology/Haematology at the same institution. His areas of expertise are lung cancer and cancer in the elderly. He is deeply involved in the clinical development of new anticancer targeted therapies and immunotherapy. He is a past president of the Italian Association of Thoracic Oncology (AIOT), a member of several national and international scientific societies, and a member of the Advisory Boards of several scientific journals and expert panels. He is the author or co-author of over 800 papers, of which more than 500 extended papers have been published in international indexed journals. He is also the author of several book chapters, with an h-index of 68. In November 2013, the American agency Expertscape (Palo Alto, California) appointed Dr. Gridelli in first place among the top world experts on lung cancer. This first place was confirmed by the same American agency in August 2019. He received the Award and Lectureship in Geriatric Oncology of the American Society of Medical Oncology (ASCO) in 2021.
