Dr. Carlos Alberto Jurado is the Director of the Operative Dentistry Division within the Department of General Dentistry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry. He received his dental degree from the Michoacan University in Mexico in 2009. He then completed a one-year clinical residency in restorative dentistry at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Dentistry, followed by a two-year clinical residency in operative and aesthetic dentistry at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. Then, he completed his three-year Prosthodontics Specialty Certificate and Master's of Science with a focus on Dental Materials at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He joined the University of Iowa from Texas Tech University, where he was the Director of Dental Skills I and CAD/CAM Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American College of Prosthodontists, and the International College of Prosthodontists. His research interests mainly include dentistry, operative dentistry, prosthodontics, dental materials, CAD/CAM dentistry, and aesthetic dentistry.

Dr. Franciele Floriani graduated from the Dental School at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, in 2010. She completed a specialization in Prosthodontics in 2012 and in Operative Dentistry in 2015. Her Master’s degree in Clinical Dentistry and Prosthodontics was obtained from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, between 2017 and 2019, followed by her PhD in the same field from 2019 to 2023. During 2021–2022, she participated in the Dentsply Implant Fellowship Program at the University of Florida at the Periodontology Department. From 2022 to 2023, she completed a second fellowship at the Prosthodontics Department, culminating in two years of clinical training in the USA. Currently, she is a clinical assistant professor at the Prosthodontics Department, University of Iowa, in a simulation clinic for D1 and D2 undergraduate students, and D3 in a prosthodontics clinic.
