Kentaro Tominaga is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Niigata University Medical and Dental Hospital. He graduated from Niigata University School of Medicine in 2009 and earned his PhD in Medicine in 2017. After completing clinical training, he served as a staff physician and assistant professor before working as a research fellow at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (James Wells Laboratory) from 2020 to 2022. His research fo-cuses on small bowel diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, gut microbiota, and advanced endo-scopic diagnostics. He is a member of several societies, including the Japanese Society of Gastro-enterology, Hepatology, and Endoscopy. Awards include Young Investigator Awards at Japan Digestive Disease Week (2019, 2021, 2023), Travel Award from the Japanese IBD Society (2022), Gut Microbiota Research Award (2023), and Niigata Medical Association Academic Award (2024).
