Vladimír Brummer, PhD, is a senior researcher at the Institute of Process Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic. He earned his PhD in Design and Process Engineering (2017), following studies in Chemical and Food Technology and a Bachelor’s and Master’s from the same university. His research focuses mainly on waste materials and fuels analysis and utilisation, industrial emissions abatement, catalytic oxidation, and flue gas and wastewater treatment. He is the head of the Analytical laboratory of fuels and waste. He has authored many Scopus-indexed publications and holds patents and utility models in reactor design and pollutant control technologies.
Tomáš Juřena, PhD, is a senior researcher in the Institute of Process Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic. He earned his PhD in Design and Process Engineering (2012). His expertise spans numerical modelling of heat transfer and fluid flow, CFD-aided design and optimisation of furnaces, and process equipment in general. He has contributed to patent-protected burner technologies and published multiple peer-reviewed papers in the fields of thermal and process engineering.
Pavel Skryja, PhD, is a senior researcher at the Institute of Process Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic. He earned his PhD in Design and Process Engineering (2017) and previously worked in industry developing, testing, and implementing industrial burners. His expertise includes the combustion of gaseous, liquid, biomass, and alternative fuels, as well as flame stability and NOₓ emissions reduction. He is the leader of the Thermal Processes and Gas Cleaning group. He has contributed to the development of patent-protected burner heads and multifunctional units for pollutant abatement, and has published peer-reviewed papers in the fields of thermal and process engineering.
Melanie Langová, MSc, is a former phytopathology researcher at the Research Institute for Fodder Crops, Ltd., Troubsko, Czech Republic. She earned her Master’s degree from Mendel University and focuses on the health, protection, and diagnostics of agricultural and fodder crops. Her expertise includes plant disease monitoring, phytopathological diagnostics, and the development of sustainable approaches to crop protection. She participates in applied research projects and collaborates on studies addressing plant health and productivity under varying environmental and stress conditions.
Jiří Bojanovský, PhD, is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Process Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic. He earned his PhD in Design and Process Engineering (2022) and specialises in combustion technologies, including the development of low-emission burners and the utilisation of alternative fuels. His research interests encompass energy recovery from waste materials and thermal processes. He has contributed to several patents in burner design and has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications in the fields of thermal and process engineering.
Marek Pernica, PhD, is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Process Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic. He earned his PhD in Design and Process Engineering (2022) and specialises in thermal and structural analysis of heat exchangers and condensers. His research focuses on transient thermal stress calculations, expansion joint requirements, and computational methods for evaluating temperature fields in industrial equipment. He has contributed to several peer-reviewed publications and participated in research projects aimed at improving the efficiency and safety of thermal systems.
Antonín Drda, BSc, is a researcher at the Research Institute for Fodder Crops, Ltd., Troubsko, Czech Republic. He holds a Bachelor's degree and specialises in the cultivation and utilisation of fodder crops. His research focuses on the development of sustainable agricultural practices, including the use of cover crops and the management of soil fertility. He has contributed to various research projects aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability of fodder crop production.
Jan Nedělník, PhD, is the director of the Research Institute for Fodder Crops, Ltd., Troubsko, Czech Republic. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Sciences and specialises in forage crop breeding, plant protection, and the development of sustainable agricultural practices. His research focuses on improving the quality and productivity of fodder crops, with an emphasis on environmental sustainability and climate resilience. He has coordinated numerous national and international research projects and has contributed to the development of innovative agricultural technologies. He is also the coordinator of the BIOEAST HUB CR and serves as the president of the Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
