D. Geoff Rideout received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2004 and is now Head of Mechanical Engineering at Memorial University. He previously worked as a consulting and research engineer in building systems and electronics manufacturing. His research topics mainly include the following: Vibrations, System Dynamics, Modelling and Simulation.
Sampath Liyanarachi received his BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering from Curtin University in 2017. He is currently a PhD candidate at Memorial University, focusing on developing simulation models of the drill string to analyse its vibrational behaviour.
