Author Biographies

Ersan Kabalci (M'09, SM'18) received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Gazi University, Ankara, Turkey, in 2003 and 2006, respectively, and a Ph.D. in 2010, focusing on an enhanced modulation scheme for multilevel inverters. From 2005 to 2007, he worked as a lecturer at Gazi University. He has held leadership roles, including head of several vocational colleges and dean of the Engineering and Architecture Faculty at Nevşehir Haci Bektas Veli University. Since 2010, he has been with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, becoming an Assistant Professor in 2011, an Associate Professor in Power Electronics and Drives in 2013, and a Full Professor in 2019. Since 2024, he has been a visiting professor at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. Professor Kabalci is an Associate Editor for several international journals on Power Electronics and Renewable Energy. His research interests include power electronics for renewable energy, microgrids, distributed generation, power line communication, and smart grids. He has authored 7 books and over 150 publications. He has served as general chair of IEEE GPECOM since 2019. He has been an IEEE member since 2009 and became a Senior Member in 2018.
