Nengxiong Xu is currently the Dean
of the School of Engineering Technology at China University of Geosciences
(Beijing), Vice Chairman of the Soft Rock Control Branch of the Chinese Society
of Rock Mechanics and Engineering, and an expert in geological disaster emergency
response at the Ministry of Natural Resources. He graduated from China
University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) in 2002 with a PhD in
Geotechnical Engineering. He mainly engages in research on the basic theory and
application of rock mechanics, numerical simulation methods and applications of
geotechnical engineering, and geological hazard assessment and prevention.
Gang Mei is a Full Professor in Scientific Computing in Engineering at China University of Geosciences (Beijing). He received his Ph.D degree from the University of Freiburg. His main research interests include Geohazards Prevention, Computational Modeling, Machine Learning, Data Mining, and Network Science and Applications. Dr. Mei is an Academic Editor of PeerJ Computer Science, IEEE Access, and SN Applied Sciences and is an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics.
