Diego Carrión is a full professor at the
Electrical Engineering Department at Salesian Polytechnic University. He
completed his Ph.D. in Engineering at the Pontifical Bolivarian University and
has been awarded Awards and Honors. He recently led the “Integration of
Artificial Intelligence in the Planning, Operation and Protection of Electrical
Power Systems” project. He has published many papers in various journals and is
a Smart Grid Research Group—GIREI (Spanish Acronym) Researcher. His teaching
disciplines include High Voltage, Optimization and Planning of Power Systems,
and Electrical Protections, and his interests include Electrical Power Systems
Planning, Optimal Power Flows, Contingencies, and Electricity Markets.
